What can I say when completely drained
When words and thoughts both hide
How do I tell the ones who care
That I cannot reach out but have tried?

When will this smothering veil go away
Leaving heart, mind and soul so free
That all the love I hold inside
Will spread both far and wide?

How do I take myself off the hook
For only being me
How do I live my life
Beneath a shadowed sun?

These are the inner musings
That I fight with every day so
I can bring smiles and comfort
To those who pass my way.
