This was written for my best friend who went out of state for college. Both he and I felt the same way about the life change from high school to college. Once he had finished moving into his apartment, he was feeling alone and wanted to come back. So in a sense, this is what I told him over the phone.

Don’t worry friend, times do change.
People are different, but we all grow with age.
Time, time only passes so slow,
When you’ve run out of space, and think there
Is nowhere to go.
In a matter of seconds people fall from the top.
Think of the ones, that time has forgot.
Where is the finish line when it seems there’s no stop?
When you run out of space, you turn the page.
This situation is new, and the environment strange.
Times are different, but we all grow with age.
Don’t worry friend, times do change.
You are no longer an animal,
Trapped in a cage.
There is nothing that can stop you now,
In this time on your own.
And we all will be waiting,
For your return home.
Don’t worry friend, times do change.
Life is different, but we all feel the same.
