Written for my Humanities class. Written from the view of a white person who was there to bring African-American’s to America as slaves and watch them over come the struggle and become successful in the present day.

We brought them here against their will,

Used them and abused them,

Made them do the poorest work,

We gave them a terrible life,

But now they are free,

They’ve broke away from these shackles,

They’re living THEIR life,

Doing what THEY want to do,

And have the upmost respect as a race,

From rags to riches,

It took centuries but finally it was accomplished,

And being a white man,

All I can do is look and admire,

At their courageous strength,

Will power and patience,

It is what every man needs in his life.
