Poem. A short poem about insecurities catching up in a relationship casting doubts.
I thought,
While looking in your eyes,
That you were the most innocent thing,
That I had ever seen,
And no one,
Had ever held me,
With their arms so firm around me,
I heard myself for the first time,
Thinking, maybe, possibly
I caught myself unconcerned,
That you were every bit real,
That those memories in the making,
Never secured how we’d feel,
When and if it came down to,
There being anything more
To consider
As we closed our eyes,
Held our breath, took hold
And just flew,
Into this chance, into this risk,
That has me terrified of you.
