Pain and what it does to the body and also to the mind. One has to hold on tight as there are times when it seems like it will never leave you. All in good time this too shall pass.
Release the PainPain takes over a body
And a mind too
It is time to rest
A need for a pillow
Helps the legs
Propped up on a couch
I lay down to think
Rest does not come easy
Nights are long
I go to the porch
In the silence of night
Stare at the moon
And ask my Dear Lord
Will I be well soon
My spirit is dampened
I hope not for so long
My pain will not succumb
This strong willed mind
I wanted it over yesterday
Not to think, to dwell on
It must be dealt with
The mind and body work
Together as one with ache
Sometimes hard to decipher
Which is worse
When pain comes calling
Functionality is scarce
Knowing the doctor
Will try to mend
This broken body
Once more
I ask for no sympathy
Just writing my pain
Is it to rid or ride the
The animosity of both
I must carry on
Strong in fortitude
So much of life left
Slighted at this moment
Thoughts of good times
This will be a distant memory
Passed from this mind and body
Life is so short
I’ve heard this before
So many things to do
I hold on to hope
And I hope
You do too
