While contemplating going to an art museum in Milwaukee, I dreamed up this on a rainy stormy night. If you could have a picture custom painted for you, what would you want in it and why?

Can you paint me a new Birmingham,

using only your natural born talents?

Your paint brush you use tells a story,

a pallet of paint is your only assistant.

****

Can you paint me a perfect clear blue sky,

with birds flying in and out of the clouds?

Paint me a rainbow after a passing storm,

the raindrops are dripping off of its edges.

****

Paint me two kites the color of bright pink,

that way my two grandchildren can fly them.

Laughter and alot of shouting is painted on,

making this  grandmothers heart skip a beat.

****

Paint me in a white wedding dress and veil,

with white roses weaved in my brunette hair.

Ready to walk down the isle to marry my love,

the chance for a life full of love and happiness.

****

Paint me with a  child of ours in my warm arms,

a child with soft curly hair and dark brown eyes.

The miniature replica of her handsome father,

paint me the picture of perfect contentment.

****

Paint me as an elderly lady with white hair,

lived the life fit for only a fairy tale princess.

These old eyes of mine don’t see as well now,

But I am searching for my birmingham portrait.

****

Can you paint me a new birmingham anymore?

do you still have your talents now we are old?

Can your old paint brushes still tell me a story,

or has the paint on your pallet dried up now?
