A blank verse hymn and a little different look at Judgment Day.

Thoughts of you, my Lord
Waft in through the windows of my soul
Welcome visitors
Bringing inspiration and cheer!
Thoughts of Your mighty Hand
Give me courage to face
The challenges of life in Christ!
Thoughts of Your Wisdom
Beyond all wisdom
Give me faith in Your Word!
Thoughts of Your incredible love
Giving Your Son
That others may live
Inspire me to live a life
As much like His as may be.
Thoughts of You, my Lord
Ever welcome visitors
In my mind
In my soul, in my heart!

Judgment Call

With the Final Trump he awoke
The coffin lid flew up
Behind the blinding light
He heard the mighty Voice
“With murder you are charged
And conspiracy thereto
With war and death and battle’s breath
Starving children to death
With bilking millions of every cent
With fraud and theft
And making whores of sweet young girls!”
“I am innocent!” he cried.
“These things did happen, I know
But I did nothing!”
“You did nothing
That I accuse not admit!”
Then with thunderous crash
The coffin lid came down
And forever and a long cold day
He gazed upon the nothing he had done.
