Written a few years back during a really low time in my life.

She put her heart into believing, that she could get away

From all the hurt, the pain and misery, that always passed her way

She prayed to God to take her, to the place called Paisley Park

Somewhere she could find happiness and heal her broken heart

Too young and naive to realise, no place was for her there

Just lost in thoughts there’d be somebody there who truly cared

Locked in a world of unhappiness, she’s now old enough to know

She’ll never get to Paisley Park, it’s just the beautiful ones that go

Yet still she hopes that the creator of the park will one day see

That here in her world of torment is a girl that still truly believes ….

In the girl on the see-saw and the profound inner peace that the colourful park imparts

So as long as he provides the music, she’ll one day gain the happiness to mend her heart.
