Poem-about a baby girl.

Image via Wikipedia

Baby girl you have come with healing in your tiny wings,

You entranced center stage on just such a morning as this.

Born with your eyes open and weeping,

You are a brightly colored handerkerchief for your mother’s tears.

You entranced center stage on just such a morning as this,

With the fruit of your hands you will plant vineyards of hope.

You are a brightly colored handerkerchief for your mother’s tears,

You considered the field and bought it, fill it with flowers and butterflys.

With the fruit of your hands you will plant vineyards of hope.

You are warm summer sun on the rainy landscape of the heart.

You considered the field and bought it, fill it with flowers and butterflys,

You are God’s secret balm for the aching heart.

You are warm summer sun on the rainy landscape of the heart,

Baby girl you have come with healing in your tiny wings.

You are God’s secret balm for the aching heart,

Born with your eyes open and weeping.

This poem was written when my granddaughter was born on her mother’s father’s birthday just 10 days before his death.
