This is a poem urging Congress to pass the automotive bailout now!

Bail out General Motors
Do it today
Time is ticking
Don’t put bankruptcy into play.
You must act now.
The crisis is clear.
The money is needed
Before the end of the year.
The collapse of GM
Will cause job losses by the millions.
And the lost of tax dollars
Will be in the billions.
Charities will suffer,
Civic organizations will too,
And our public institutions,
Will be crying the blues.
The collapse of GM
Will have a domino effect.
It will make cities appear
Like a disastrous train wreck.
Suppliers will fall.
Retail stores will close down.
And the unemployment lines
Will spread throughout towns.
Twenty-five billion dollars
Is a lot of money to spend.
But the collapse of our auto industry
Will doom us in the end.

    Well spoken.

    BUT as you do this
    pull them in line.
    Make them account for
    evey single dime.
    Can the top brass
    and cut the union say
    or our billions of dollars
    will get eaten in pay.
