A plea to those who will not recognize themselves.

Get thee gone, you of dark heart

and fearful mind of arrogance.

Turn your judgments on yourself

and ask our Lord to help you heal.

Hold a mirror to your face

and see the malice in your eyes.

Pray to find that loving light

for cauterizing hatred’s wounds.

Find a way, you of bleak faith

to break your melancholy bonds.

Claim not the vision of God

to justify your callous words.

Lay your soul in Jesus’ hands

to let Him salve the poisons there.

Beg forgiveness for this sin

of trying to usurp His place.

Hi, Casey. Excellent. Wish the ones who need to read that could and would recognize themselves.
