Path to Happiness Updated and  Completed

There’s no other reason why we struggle as hard as we can,

Why we suffer all the pain even when everything seems in vain.

We just want to know that at the end of the road,

We can all cast our burdens and be able to unload.

But if we really want to be happy we just have to be ready,

To pay the price however steep it might be.

These are the basis that we have to remember,

If only to make sure we have it in proper order.

Our health is the foundation without which nothing could stand.

You may have everything but it would just be nothing but sand.

For how could you be happy with all the pain that you carry,

You only have misery until the end of the day.

You may be healthy that’s easy to say,

Especially when you’re still young and so full of energy.

But this cannot be sustained unless you have the means,

And that is where wealth in the form of money comes in.

But the wealth that you may have can easily be drained,

Especially when you have many fancies and caprices to maintain.

The only way to free yourself from this quandary,

Is to arm yourself with knowledge extracted from the very quarry.

This time you really have to be extremely careful,

For the power you hold in your hands can easily turn you into a fool.

Knowledge is power as the great Francis Bacon tersely said,

Better know how to use that power wisely lest it becomes the harbinger of dread.

With wisdom around you can get the assurance,

That happiness will abide in you and go the distance.

Wisdom will warn you of the dangers lurking ahead,

For with her all seeing eyes no falsehood will you heed.

All the wise men in all ages have come to agree,

That the greatest treasure is that which will set you free.

Freedom from all cares and worries and despair,

And only love has the power against the venom of fear.

But even with all the health, the wealth, the knowledge and the power

With wisdom and love combining their might to make you happier,

Happiness can never be fully yours till the end of your days,

Not until you have mastered the ways of those whose lives are live in perfect holiness.
