The epitome of conviction.

I remember doubling over
And kneeling until my knees buckled
Falling on the carpet
Landing on the left side of my face
Looking at life in a sideways view
Knowing I’m not worthy enough
To stand in front of the thrown of Grace
So I just laid there

It almost feels like
I have to ask if it’s alright
To step into the Father’s presence
To look into the Light
With the Light looking at me
The eyes of Glory cracking the sky
To behold dust blowing in the wind
Needing rain of forgiveness
To become whole

A countenance cracked as dessert grounds
Dust taking the place of the breath of life
That you gave me
Sand storms hit
Summoning everything in the Earth
To bring me down
And become one with it

Basking in the sun became a heatstroke
The towel on the beach turned to quicksand
Anything done without you is a dead-end
I’ve tried to do construction
On the wrong turns I’ve taken
To connect them to the path
Where milk and honey flows
But the dirt I lifted fell on me
As if I made a grave

Don’t let me rest here
There’s still life left
As long as I can say your name Jesus
Please right my wrongs
Sometimes it feels like I need you
To do everything
And receive forgiveness all the time
Makes me think that I should say
Sorry for being pathetic
