Trials and temptations.
The journey of thousands of years
And yet a home that never nears;
Since I have to, I keep my course,
Only longing to find a source
To ask how long the way would be.
Since no friend here can stay that long
Forlorn becomes theme of my song;
Because I can’t afford sweet rest
I don’t see Death as a rude guest,
But One whose claws convey repose.
Although the sun lends me its light
It’s to show the size of each plight
And at nights I keep asking why
The dark veil of the starless sky
Only shades my plights a moment.
Always on the pathway I plod
Downed by an oft-unrelenting rod
I replenish the mighty seas
As I make my unending pleas
For just a spell of gladness.
My steps are ordained by a Hand
Weaving me like a small frail strand
That needs to locate its right place
In a network made at a pace
That no human could determine.
