A poem for July four describing fireworks as fireflies reminding us of the greatness of America.

Firecrackers
Spurt and sputter,
Dance and dream,
Flying upwards like
Thousands of patriotic fireflies
Singing old battlefield songs
With the Sons of Liberty.

Their brightness burns
The patriotic spark in each of us
Further and further into our hearts
Where it becomes more a part of us
Each and every July 4.
