A poem about racism and it’s inane stupidity.

You have the gift of sight yet are blinded by ignorance,

Stereotypes consume a bigoted mind,

Casual racism simmers beneath the surface,

Hate masquerading as patriotism.

Hypocrisy of the highest order,

Enraged by such a trivial matter,

Not seeing the person within,

Judgement based on tone of skin.

Fascism it seems is alive and well,

Hate breeds hate into the next generation,

A neverending cycle that must be broken,

Or humanity will suffer for eternity.

We are all of the same race,

Our beliefs and cultures the only difference,

Would the planet be any better,

If we all looked and acted in the same manner?
