My prayer for you

In its simplest form:

That you shall have peace

In the midst of your storm

You’ve given so much

The returns have been small

And often you wonder

Why you bother at all

With all that you’ve been through

And all you’ve endured

It’s not all for nothing

You can just rest assured

Your weeping will only

Endure for a night

And surely joy cometh

With the morning’s new light

And as your wailing

Gives way unto dance

Know that you’ve been given

A second chance

Hold on through your midnight

A new day awaits

Lift up your windows

Throw open the gates

Receive all the blessings

That are in store for you

For you have been faithful

And loving, and true

Your breakthrough is coming

It’s just ‘round the bend

So don’t you give up

Be encouraged, my friend

Your stumbling blocks

Will become stepping stones

As you climb still higher

And come into your own

So my prayer for you
