A poem.
Below the surface deep underground
Waiting….Waiting……Waiting
My life is beginning
What is to become of me
I rise from the covers that cover me
I am young but I too fit in with the old
You can wash away the dirt to try and cleanse me
But you can never take away what is inside
That is where my true soul lies
Surrounded by a shield
From the outside I am rigid
But to get to know the real me
You have to peel me away my shield
Piece by piece
Inch by inch
For I am a potatoe from the inside looking out
