Fifth or so in ongoing Spam Series.
Erased, a little jumpy
Red and yellow and real
Give up on those dreams of shag carpet
Winged nylon, dogs with your sisters’ eyes
There was more than one reason, but we don’t talk about it
Priced so low you’d be crazy not to
Sing phones, sing branches, sing sip and sigh
Feet pace the block in soundless song
The wind’s not an oven yet. Give us the sun
Give us the drumskin house on a flat lawn
Banner and cellophane, your head curled on my chest
I would be crazy to stop now, crazy to rest
For this water currents over what were lungs
To suffocate my stillness. I would have eyes again
One day soon, when my ship comes in.
