The people who influence us most

To us may ne’er utter a word,

But simply and quietly live their lives,

For the glory of their Lord.

They care not for worldly applause,

Noticed once, or great audience given.

Would be counted by only the Father,

As untellable hosts of Heaven!

Shine bright for His crown Who hath made them,

To His will they most gladly would yield

To stand and bloom gladly, His plantings,

As the lilies of the field!

These are the lives that would mould us,

And make us as He’d have us be.

Content just to stand in the shadows,

And dwell in obscurity!

Spirit-filled lives for the Master,

Caring not to be put on display.

Content to carry the second mile
The burdens we carry today!
