I’m a real… something; a boy, a man, most of the time I would settle for not being noticed at all, because the people who see me don’t treat me as good, alive, or real. There was a time that with just words and an Internet connection I could sweep a girl off her feet or off her chair. “Pinocchio Goes Wireless” is me wondering how it would be like to be real, to be with a real girl and not another loser staring at the screen dreaming…

Unplugged
But powered
Showered
Louder
The electricity
Lights and sparks
Firing in my heart
And that beat
You and me
Unhooked
From the outlet
Shout It
Bout it, bout it
Moving
The wall behind me
Away from darkness
To see
You and me
Unwired
Wireless
Tireless
Confidence
Flying
Through wi-fi
To lie
Beside
You and me
Unconnected
The past
At last
A chance
Bare connections
Hearing
Seeing
Touching
You and me
Untested
Not a toy
Alloy
But a real boy
A test
Heartbeat
Breath
The new circuitry
You and me
