Poem

Oh, pity means a lot to us,

Yet, think it might be such:

Feigning pain and misery

Touch us far too much!

There are undeserving folks

Familiar with the tact

Of acting out sheer misery

To which we might react

Tenderly as they expect

Knowing there are those

That  lack the inner sense

To fathom genuine woes.

There are fleeting moments

When warmly we express

Pity toward sights we see

That call for tenderness.

good voice, yes sometimes we are too generous with our pity.
