Plant a seed; then watch it grow…

Take great care with whom you sow,
Water well and feed with care,
Protect from cold; this Orchid rare,
Keep well safe from all who harm,
Watch for beauty that will disarm,
Watch as plant begins to bud,
Don’t let it wallow in too much mud,
When it starts to spread and flower well,
Just watch with awe, try not to yell,
Don’t let it stay out all night,
Try to keep it in your sight,
But let it sprout the way it will,
Bite your tongue, at least until,
Until it starts to cover all,
The garden gate and then the wall,
Then urge it to spread its seed,
This treasured plant, this beloved weed,
But visit it in native place,
This young seedling of human race.
