A rather amateur poem of mine.
Pleas of a grizzly
I looked into the eyes of a bear once,
In the midst of great North American ferns,
And I saw,
I understood,
I felt.
He saw what I saw,
Fear,
Despair,
Sorrow,
Panic…
And for a moment I felt like I was the bear,
And he felt like he was me…
He was trying to tell me something,
And I understood.
Leave his eyes urged,
Run his face said,
Die his mind shouted,
Live his heart chimed…
Then the bear turned his face away,
And slipped into the darkness forevermore.
I looked into the eyes of a bear once.
