A poem of seeking forgiveness in a realtionship.

Please forgive me;
For not saying I love you.
For no being there for you.
For not listening when you needed a friend.
For not standing strong until the end.
For confusing your love with lust.
For neglecting your honesty and trust.
For not sheltering you from the storm.
For displaying your heart I had torn.
For not letting you completely in.
For living a life of sin.
For abusing the way you showed your love.
For putting “us” in the hands above.
For the verbal abuse, battering and lies.
For not listening when your heart would cry.
For letting you just knock on my door.
For not opening up to reveal what was in store.
For smacking you on the cheek.
For leaving you out on the street.
For not calling to say, “I’m Alright.”
For not giving you a kiss goodnight.
Please forgive me.
This list could go on for days.
Please forgive me for my lost destructive ways.
