Dec 8th 2011 By Alex Kim.
To some little boys, and some little girls, whose faces oh so gleam,
Take head to my words, as well as my tone, and please give up your dream.
I’ll tell you a tale, a wonderful tale, of life and loss of sight,
It all starts with me, a young child of eight, who sought for what was right.
A young child I was, for I not to see, the world that was all wrong.
I grew and I fought, a decade went past, I thought that I was strong.
My morals were weak, my conscience was bleak, the world was still all wrong.
A strong lad like me should easily be, able to make a change.
The people I met would all but agree, my dream was all quite strange.
It took quite awhile, to just understand, how I could not be right.
It then came to me that nothing would change, as long as I had sight.
I then closed my eyes, the world disappeared, and I was left in thought.
In time I awoke, aware of myself, and I was not distraught
My conscience was bright, as well as my thoughts. As I then saw a truth.
The dream that I had, was really quite bad, an evil brought with youth.
The world as it is deserves to be free, and I should not be king.
Although I was wronged, from days as a youth, this would not change a thing.
No matter the fame, attention I’d get, the world would not be right.
I looked at the world, and saw my new goal, a future simply bright.
So throw out your dreams, all your petty dreams, a simple life is key.
Just go with the flow, one day at a time, and live your life in glee.
So please little boys, and please little girls, you really should not scheme.
I’ve said it twice and I’ll say it again, now please give up your dream.
