Writing poems is a very weird thing

For some people it comes very quickly

For other people, mental blocks of creativity

But we are all required to do the same

To get comfortable and clear our head

To start thinking with an open mind

To express yourself with emotional creativity

To topics you rain supreme

Others you write just to finish

Then there’s ones you’re required to do

I am not one for poems

But I guess I sort of have a way with words

I can fill pages with the right topic

But like everybody else I get mental walls

It’s a funny thing to write on a topic

Put a piece of yourself on display

For some it can be art or love

For others it can be mystery or hate

Myself, I do it for the grades in school

Poetry just isn’t for me
