Poetry Anthology.
Of dogs and men
There once was a poor but special man,
Who with no house lived in a canyon.
He was very lonely living in here,
As his dog was his only companion.
The canyon was frosty in the morning,
And to shield him was but a tattered shirt.
At night he hallucinated with his companion
About living in a house instead of on dirt.
Everyday he’d go out into the market,
And purchase only some bread and meat.
For he needed to save up for the house he longed for,
So that he could finally make his life complete.
Day by day he’d collect his pension,
From ‘The Unique Funding Agency Pension’.
The money would help him catch that cloud,
So he treasured each cent without apprehension.
Many days elapsed by night and by day,
While precious time continued running.
Gradually his patience had paid off well
For he had the money which he found stunning.
He had a sufficient amount of money,
To buy a small house with only one room.
But that was enough for a man and his dog;
It would be better than his cold night doom.
‘Tomorrow’s the day,’ he thought to himself,
‘Tomorrow I will fulfil what I aimed to do.’
But tomorrow would have a surprise for him
Which would end up placing him stuck in the glue.
On the eve before the day it would happen,
A very suspicious event occurred.
The man was sleeping while his doggy companion
Began acting up then went totally absurd.
The dog was barking, the dog was jumping,
The dog was being hyper all over the place.
The dog barked louder, the dog jumped higher,
The dog sped out and then onto a chase.
Dawn had arrived and the man woke up
But to his dismay the dog disappeared.
He searched the canyon but there was no dog,
‘I hope he’s alright, that dog,’ he feared.
And so he set out on his arduous journey,
Out on the search for a missing dog.
The sun was out but was not in sight,
As it was eaten by a morning fog.
All the fog did was cause more trouble,
As it was a challenge just to gain sight.
But time flew by and blew the fog clear,
