Better get over the worries and troubles if we can
poison sometimes works better than elixir, man!

IF Oliver Goldsmith was alive
possibly  he only could tell
 Where the Lotus Eaters thrived
nibbling the fruit of forgetfulness
they so admired, and where they are now?
Was Goldsmith merely fantasizing
or talking about the real life, God knows best;
But the fact is Life continues as usual
travails follow the trail of fate
happiness gets shrouded in clouds of dust
the rain drops are not as sweet as before
there is more acid and dust in fate’s fold
Love that was once throbbed  the Heart
Is but a humming of whispering pygmies
the show goes on and on
leaving no escape from glum and gloom
Kings and beggars suffer the same fate
their joys and happiness are hierarchically akin
beggars they both are, beggars they will remain
both live by asking this way or that
O Goldsmith! tell me where the lotus grows
Tell me where peace resides,
tell me the prescription you once told
to the Lotus eaters now extinct
better get over the worries and troubles if we can
poison sometimes works better than elixir, man!
