This poem was written by author, Rusty King.

I went to the top of the hill
And looked to the valley
All I saw was death and destruction
All I saw was violence and corruption
I wanted to turn my back and just keep walking
I wanted to turn my back on this poisoned world

Down in the valley
Every man claims to be a savior
Says he’s the one who’s finally come
The only preaching he’s done has been at the end of a gun
I wanted to turn my back and never look again
I wanted to turn my back on this poisoned world

Deep in the gloomy darkness
Everyone carries a banner
Says that his way’s the only way
Things is, no one’s alive to hear what he has to say
I wanted to turn my back and not listen any more
I wanted to turn my back on this poisoned world
