An ode to our leaders and their shenanigans. I penned this during the Premier “Joh for PM” campaign in Queensland, Australia. I experimented with an aaaa, aaaa, aaaa, aaaa rhyme scheme.

Politics is sometimes jubilation
For there is a thing called indexation
That raises wages to higher remuneration
But then again, it’s still all taken by taxation
Then there’s a group called arbitration
That considers and decides the augmentation
And with these kind of people screwing the nation
Perhaps one will never achieve satiation?
The Premier thinks he has the connotation
Of the nation’s needs and deprivation
I think this, (seeing his private aviation)
More thrift, and there’d be no starvation
And they say we have Democratisation
And they go on saying, to bring the elation
But as long as I still live in degradation
Politic-ation is just no relation to my situation.
