Election time! You’ve got your vote

And isn’t it confusing?

With all the parties so alike,

Who should we be choosing?

Policies, pledges and manifestos

Speeches of pleas and promises,

What are we supposed to be believe

When politicians want the best for all of us?

Taxes up, taxes down.

Where’re the jobs I hear you ask?

Inflation rising, devalued pound.

Will the criminals be brought to task?

Are class sizes going up?

Or hospital waiting list coming down?

My trash needs collecting – if they’re not on strike!

How many more immigrants coming to town?

With so many issues affecting us all,

Current affairs from day to day.

It’s on the elections that we call,

Our opportunity to have our say!
