Many cities have very active light abatement programs, but not mine. The idea is to eliminate unnecessary or vanity lighting, and especially upwardly directed, and generally totally wasted, light. The efforts are most often championed by amateur astronomy clubs who know what truly dark skies look like and know that with proper light management more than only a handful of the planets and brightest stars will be visible to awe even the city folks. There are people who go running at night for that the only time they can do it, among other things. I understand your concern, but think about what it would be for many people if it were all dark at night, only the stars to give its light. Please, spread the news that I`m back on the site.
