A fun poem about a parrot.

Poor little parrot couldn’t fly, he lost his colours and couldn’t cry, he couldn’t run, he could walk but couldn’t even give a squawk.

As he rolled along the road he was stopped by a toad, the toad asked him, what is wrong, the parrot replied my colours have gone.

The toad then said take this lily, it will make you look less silly.

The parrot started to roll again until he was stopped by a hen, the hen asked him what is wrong the parrot replied my colours have gone.

The hen then gave him a piece of heather and said to him, this will make you better.

So the parrot carried on rolling down, over a hill and through a town, as he rolled through the town he was stopped by a clown, the clown asked him what is wrong the parrot replied my colours have gone.

The clown then said take this paint, a colourless parrot, what more can I hate?

So as the parrot rolled along he started to, sing a song.

The things he was given mixed together, the lily the paint and also the heather.

His colours came back and what a sight he left the ground and into flight. When he’ll be back no one knows, say goodbye before he goes.
