Comparing Pop Rap to the song Jump Jim Crow, a song of the 1800’s that furthered negative stereotypes of black people.

Pop rap is the new “Jump Jim Crow” And the music Video is the new Minstrel Show Record execs heard these digs music before soThey take it, then persuade them to change their lyrics to show Black men & women as pimps & hoes with so much flesh exposedIn their videos, they look like Deuce Bigalow in drag so madI can’t take it no more. It seems like all music nowadays is made for a dance floorIt don’t matter what you talking aboutas long as you got a nice slow flow.It goes to show though rapping about reality’s a no noAnd to be honest, these rappers aren’t even so soFor real their lyrics aren’t even close to a big deal thoughPeople line up for their shows In their finest clothesSo many people in one venue I had to move down to my toesTo count them Not one of them with their mouth closedReciting their lyrics like it wasn’t something they choseTurn the music off the whole crowd frozeWhen it comes back on they start moving their toesMouthing these lyrics again because everybody knowsthem Like Dead Prez said these record labels slang this music like cokeDigs are provoked by the desire not to be brokeSo they will keep on selling this music that’s a jokeAs long as you’ll pay to see someone jump jim crow .
