Wrote this while thinking about an opportunity I was presented.
Daylight, seen from afar, beyond the dark, the hallowed star
Forsaken, bound by the black of darkness, swallowed in sin
Dare I tread ahead, reaching pass the emptiness, to seek it whole
Everything I’ve ever imagined, the restoration of peace within my control
With each passing morning, my soul continuously awakens
Unaware of the slow death, a rapid pacing heart, moving at a snail’s pace
Teaching my eyes to look beyond the stars, gazing into it all
Wondering what I’ve yet to behold, wondering how long I’ll stall
I’ve yet to reach my zenith; the peak is plain in-sight
But the journey is long, withered soul fail me not this night
I’ve given it my all, to reap what I sow, it’s all I long to bear
The increase I give, only hoping it’s what she’s willing to share
Life, in all her beauty, gorgeous and repulsive in the same manner
Guiding us straight and through waiving her glorious white banner
A sign of peace, tranquil ease and love, and all we long for
A moment of hope, a fragment of jubilation upon this deserted shore
To think you’ve come this far, and fate pledges a promising spade
Ponder long before the moment, before you accept the charade
Is it truth, held out in plain sight, triumph, truly a moment of glee
Or maybe just an empty entrapment, I’ll just wait and see
