Poverty is a negative view of life, however, it also has positive benefits.

Poverty eats away at the core of a persons ambition
it erodes the hope in the heart of it’s victim
poverty renders a person humble and vonerable
leaving them wide open to the evil and cruel deeds
inflicted on them by the rich
poverty corrupts the minds of those who live in wealth
it gives the self righteous the excuse to blame the victim
poverty renders a person hopeless and helpless
it strikes without warning and is passed on
from one generation to another
poverty is painful and sad
it causes needless and tragic death
it gets no sympathy from the rich
poverty struggles to keep its victims alive on
crumbs of goodwill or resentment of the wealthy
poverty drains energy from the body and  numbs the mind
from believing that it will end
poverty is like cancer that is rarely cured
it eats away without mercy
it is an enemy that never goes away
the Bible warns that the poor will always be among us
it speaks of those in poverty as the “Meek,” who
shall inherit the earth
for their reward is not of this world
poverty is not a sin
it is not a crime
it is a cross to bear
it is a sacrifice that is forced onto those
who have no choice in the matter
poverty is a silent strength that gives the victims
power over the evil of greed
it builds compassion in the eyes of those who
suffer toward the hardships
endured by others who also face the same fate
poverty has a dignity of its own
it owes no one anything
it suffers in silence
poverty makes itself known and gives the wealthy
the opportunity to learn the values of charity
poverty is innocence
it is shame only to those who resent it
it encourages love and concern for all
the unfortunate in the world
poverty watches over the needs of each other
it lives in a world of it’s own
where rejection is viewed as ignorance
poverty is sensitive and beautiful in the face of misery
because it can understand the simple
and free gifts of Nature
poverty is the gift God gave the world
to measure the compassion of the rich
Jesus was poor
His poverty was “LOVE”
His poverty gave everyone the chance to be saved
and seek life everlasting in eternity

the problem is, nobody wants to be poor. everyone looks down on the poor and for the most part you are judged negatively rather than it being taken into consideration why you are poor, for many Americans its because of the health care system eating away their income.

An excellent piece of literature on a difficult topic. They say that money can’t buy happiness, but neither can poverty. Perhaps poverty exists to make us grateful for what we have and compassionate towards those who have not.
