Meditation usually leads to enlightenment. So I meditate on my power and purpose in life and it all leads to happiness. More specifically happiness with one’s self.

Truly defining the journey

Succumbing to the masses

Being pulled along on a gurney

Is a metaphor of my road less traveled

My road entwined, unraveled

Like the engine warming

While steadily idling

Getting hot and bothered

Trying to see the vision

Warned of me by my mother

How History has told the story

Repeatedly of my life

How I endured the pain and strife

Peer pressure, crime, drugs and sex

City pressure, industry, technology rebirth

State pressure legalese and human rights

Government pressure a right to believe and to fight

I’ve sat down and thought about it thoroughly

How I used to be unruly

Like the static cling and an insubordinate thing

Like the kinkiness of that snap crackle and pop

The roughness it does sing

How I comb my scalp to straighten it out

To complete the cycle that is in essence

The 360 degree ring

Where is my power,

What is my purpose

My intent to last

In my detriment

Yes this too shall pass

And it shall be the past

Molded into a cast

And etched in the full grown mass

Of that which is the source and finish

Of the knowledge and the intellect

The effect like atoms colliding

People surviving and fighting

Like Terrence Howard inCRASH

Here today, gone tomorrow in a flash

Being held tightly in a sash

Not like the 4077 from MASH

But still saving lives, recycling them

Like garbage, from treasure to trash

So when I ask

where is my power, what is my purpose

I laugh

Cause laughter’s the best medicine

In a mental fast

And when you already know the answers

To the questions you ask

Yes I thought about many things

Nonchalantly, uncaringly, sincerely

I was at times melancholy, full of jolly

Effervescently, absolutely, positively

Undeniably maniacal

Yes I’ve went loco

But enlightenment came

No longer insane

But tame

With the notion

That I stir the potion

Not the poison

The I am my own purpose

And that my power is in my purpose

Wow! My purpose is me!

Yes I do see!

That once I am happy

So it will be

For everyone around me!

It’s true that until we know our purpose and learn to love ourselves, we will just keep spinning out ouf control with no goal or target to reach. Great write!!
