The more I see, the more I know
Power that’s downright abusive….

Poem:

The more I see, the more I know

Power that’s downright abusive,

Sooner, later, proves to show

That it is simply illusive,

History being replete with such

Tyrants and dictators cruel –

Those aloft with too much power

Shall one day run out of fuel –

Some day when the people rising

To resist those in control –

Those that keep on exercising

Ways that ravish and condole

Deprivation, hate and greed –

Caring merely for the sprouting

Of their own soul-shattering seed,

While the people mourn and groan,

Shall be stripped of might and power

Through a just democracy;

And time shall usher in the hour

When dictators cease to be.
