Poem about children and how we need to take care of them.
PRECIOUS SEED
When the hay is gone tender grass shows itself
And the herbs of mountains are gathered
When we walk in our field tender plants at our feet
Do we step on some that’s been weathered?
Were we careful in thought, careful in deed?
Did our words spoken out cause a trembling?
Have we weathered life’s storms as some children do?
Are we sure we were not ‘’ disassembling”?
We need to be careful in thought and in deed
Because when they’re young they’re so tender
They’re in such rich sod when cared for by God
Much from their lives He will render.
If those all around don’t shield while they’re young…
Not only in thought, but in deed,
They’ll die on the vine, THEY’LL DIE ON THE VINE
And we’ll NEVER reap from their seed.
When we walk in God’s Field
Know His thought and His Deed
Being careful to let him tend our sod
Like children He’s watching we’ll all become tender
And yield more seed for our God.
