How can you say you love God yet you hate His servants? This poem is about an individuals struggle with church and the people in it. Confused about how people say they love Christ and treat people contrary to what Jesus says. Where is the love? This poem is in no way a direct attack or criticism on all churches just based on my own experience.

At times I feel like I’m all alone.
No one in this world to call my own,
No one to hold, or be held or feel a warm embrace,
I can always feel your presence without seeing your face.
I heard the stories of how you loved me since the beginning of
time,
I heard that you will always be there and will forever be mine.
I often struggle with my flesh, but yet I long for your spirit,
but when I sin, I hear your words but often try not to hear it.
I felt convicted when I find myself falling into sin,
Although I try to fight carnality I can’t help myself and I give in.
Been disappointed many times when things aren’t what they
seem,
Been hurt by people who confess to love you,
but they’re not coming clean.
Being the only child, I have a sense of belonging,
Wanted to be a part of a large family is what I’m constantly
longing.
I wonder why they don’t like me, were all suppose to be saved,
How could they not like me, when it was my Father’s son that
he gave,
To take away the sins of the world so we could all be as one;
Why would you hurt me with the venom that spews from your
tongue.
Aren’t we suppose to love our neighbors as we love ourselves?
Aren’t we to show the love of Christ to the world and not put
Him on the shelf?
You say you love the Lord, but you treat me like an outcast.
You say I am your sister but yet you condemn me for my past.
When it’s all said and done things aren’t what they seem,
How can you continue to let your love for Christ remain
unseen.
