This poem can, to the reader, be about a doll, or a metaphor for human relationships.
comely doll, to us you speak in tongues
preach to your manufacturer
recycled from a past era
manhandling the general public, especially on holidays
boys and girls pull your strings, make you sing
appearance on the shelves understandable
rides in sport utility rear seats, snuggling at nighttime
parents mobbing toy stores en masses to please the youngsters
if you could feel, doll, you’d have much to celebrate
nothing super seeds unconditional love
