prison comes in many forms , to hold you back in life

angry with the things you’ve done, a brick, a gun, a knife

the jury met,the sentence made , their families they all cried

i wonder if their punishment is always justified

committing crime seems easy, that’s what the others say

lock them up for ever , while we all have to pay

bars are not the answer, other ways we have to find

to help them join society, to help,to work ,to bind

these people don’t need punishment, or kicking when their down

never turn your back on them ,or look at them with a frown

lets all be brave and help them, with decisions that are bold

treat them all with respect, bring them back in to the fold

we all do stupid things in life, and i have done a few

never caught or punished for my crimes, i  tell you this is true

a prison cell i do not know , never once have i been in

lets help the people who are in side, to be good, to be kind and to win
