Any fear that we may have sit silently while we stay to finish what was started…

There are no calls of duty
Or parades that mark the day
The thoughts come in, just like the tide
While we strategy a way

No news reveals the details
Of those who fought until the last
And time can be the enemy when
Healing something from the past

Our courage finds no metal
And our rank is poured out space
There are no secret missions
When peace reaches out for grace

Some people have the answers
Yet they will never see the call
Of haunted words like bullets fly
All meant to make one fall

Any fear that we may have
Sits silent while we stay
To finish what was started
When our loved ones walk away

There is no need to satisfy
No award when we prevail
In the long run some may never know
Tarnished truth they bid to hail

And even in forgiveness for
The crazy things we humans do
Some one seeks to terrify
The inner courts subdue

I’ve been told there will come a day
When all will be made new
I’ve been told that every lie will be
Opened honestly and true

There are no hands to push aside
Life hurts, it truly can
No warm fires gently burn complete
By friend or even fan

Yes the past will remain a mystery
In the portion they dole out
How could we explain the battlefield
..And what our private wars about.

Nicely done! The battles we face often go unnoticed by others, and you’ve captured that sense of loneliness beautifully.
