About a love worth waging war for…

To know the Egyptian heritage

that hides your Hebrew ancestry

is what I live for

I believe in your love

like Jehovah Jireh

because you also provide

My desire is to make

you speak in unfamilar tongues.

Fight for you like a gentile

 in Gaza

Love you like Elohim

to include the most high

Make it impossible for you to cry

for sorrow’s sake

Do it in such a way that you

  appreciate the time we spend

but hate to see each second pass.

I’d trade all of my possessions

just to call you friend

and work like a slave

to do it all over again

I want to be so much more

than your spiritual companion

Love you so deeply

that we remain religious

long after Sunday

make it last til Thursday

 have a rivival on Friday

so we can rest on the Sabbath,

You are the fulfillment

of an unshakeable dream

My prophetic love

the only thing worth fighting for

I like the biblical/spiritual references. It implies love on a higher plane, which is something I’ve always wanted to experience.

Excellent write! Even though I am not religious, I see the awesome beauty in your poem.
