I just want to pay some respect to all the public transportation workers who work really hard to make sure we get to our destinations safely.

With the way the world is today

I just gotta pay

respect to transportation

that’s there for us everyday

Getting us from A to B

even though the fee

seems a little exteme,

it’s still a great team

Helping us to win this game

MTA are the initials in it’s name

It deserves some fame

They are the blood

flowing through the veins

of the city

Their style ain’t pretty

They just get the job done

You can always catch one

24 – 7

I’ve been taking it for years,

no doubt I’m a veteran

It’s a gift from heaven

because if it cease to exist

New York would be at risk

of having a heart attack

You have to face that fact

We already had a taste of that

with the strike and 9 – 11

Thank the Lord me made it back

in the race

and to a familiar place

It was hard at first

but now we’re picking up the pace

Thanks MTA for getting us to school and work

to the hospital, home and church

and wherever else we want to go

Not too fast,

not too slow

You help the traffic flow

more freely

There’s no doubt that we need

buses, trains and planes

Yall come through in hail, sleet, snow and rain

Respect to cabs

taxis, dollar cars and dollar vans

for doing your job

like no one else can

Take a bow

Go ahead and do what you do

There’s a song for you now

Don’t be so modest

Give yourself a pat on the back

I like the fact

that you make space for the handicap

Yall been getting a bad rap

because of how some drivers act

and during rush hour

the trains and buses are packed

to the point where we can’t relax

but it’s all good

Just keep rolling consistently

through our neighborhood
