A poem about being so very close to everything you’ve ever wanted, but yet still at more than an arms length.
Every time I see your name,
when I look to see who’s calling me,
my breathless heart hopes you’ll say
“I need your arms to blanket me.”
When you walk within proximity,
I feel a warmth within my skin
floating in love’s gravity,
baby please, could you pull me in.
please oh please just pull me in.
The colors in your eyes
are the stars of my sky.
The curves in your lips
find me trembling in flight.
The feel of your touch
melts the moon from my sight.
Won’t you pull me in…
pull me in tonight?
Every time you look at me
do you think about what we could be,
or just pull away with the tide?
baby please, won’t you pull me in
won’t you pull me in tonight?
The colors in your eyes
are the stars of my sky.
The curves of your lips
find me trembling in flight.
The feel of your touch
opens my view of this life.
Maybe one day soon,
you’ll pull me in sight.
Maybe one day soon
will soon be tonight.
