About Zaphyre who receives roses from her suitor, Banefoul. Two dark elves in the fantasy RPG game called Everquest 2.

He gave me purple roses,
The kind that are so rare,
Not pink or red or white ones,
You see most anywhere.
He gave me purple roses,
Despite the cost so dear.
He knew these were my favorite.
This gesture made it clear.
He gave me purple roses
My heart he yearns to win.
A dozen long and thornless,
Delivered with a grin.
He softly said, “My lady,
These roses are for thee.
Accept them as a token
Of a love that’s meant to be.”
I took the purple roses,
Accepted with a kiss.
They grace my home with beauty
And I’ve never known such bliss.

The metre within this write is dead on, as the flow is flawless. The imagery zof the purple roses and what they means comes through clearly for a lovely read. Michael

Roses come in purple? :) Who knew? I didn\’t.

Banefoul. Yikes, what an evil name for a suitor. Someone out there and I think a lot alike (cf. my Nicholas Blackthorn, for example).

Nice job on the poem, as everyone else has said so well already. But have you ever considered trying free or blank verse? That\’s where I started in poetry.

And…have you received my recent messages to your Inbox? I appreciate your comment in my story line, and would like to read more about what you think of it (past, present and future entries as they progress).
