As quoted from Live Science, A 28-year-old woman from India suddenly has a high sex drive because of being bitten by rabid dog and died several days later.

The woman came to the doctor with an unusual complaint, ie a sudden increase in sexual desire. The woman feels constantly aroused, often even in the absence of sexual stimulation at all.

According to a doctor from the department of emergency medicine at Sri Gokulam Hospital and Research Institute in Salem, Tamil Nadu who declined to be named said that that made her to experience sexual symptoms to death in less than a week is a virus that is still a scourge in developing countries, namely rabies.

The rabies virus can paralyze the muscles of swallowing, causing people to suddenly become afraid of water and light. But in this case, the rabies virus makes people become hypersexual for attacking the brain. Unfortunately, by the time symptoms appear, the disease is not curable.

“Often times people will say when having symptoms I would go to the doctor. But at the time (symptoms appear), it was too late. If you are bitten or licked or scratched by a suspect animal is infected, you should seek treatment within 24 hours,” said Peter Costa, director of communications for the Global Alliance for Rabies Control.

This virus is actually very easy to shut down by way of heating, soap, detergent or create an atmosphere of acids and bases. This virus has an incubation period of between 2 weeks to 2 years, but the average case of rabies in Indonesia, the incubation period is between 2 weeks to 18 weeks
