A poem with somewhat longer lines than what is traditionally used.

Part one starts at the beginning, and Part two starts at the beginning as well, only from the girls’ perspective.

A poem about a boy longing to be with his true love, and a girl, who is numb from mistreatment, discovering her true love.

Part 1: The Boy

A glimmering star, twinkling ever so radiantly in the night sky.

Standing out and shining down upon a boy from overhead.

As he stood there, gazing his gaze beyond the universe so high,

Seeing the vast distance that separated her galaxy from his bed.

Keeping an eye on the ray of light held up by continual darkness,

he climbed higher and higher up the Earth, yet never rising past insignificance.

Extending his arm to grasp the air above towards the brilliant goddess.

Others stared at him, approached, and reassured his obedience.

Was it wrong to want to be so far away?

Wrong to be here, and not there, in her life?

Sending his wishes to reach the stars someday?

Wrong to think that one light would end his strife?

“No!” He said, “No this Just won’t do!”

He pointed and turned, aiming his finger.

“No one will stand up! Not you, nor you, or you!”

He knew at once, these voices would not let him linger.

“In time,” he was told. “In time,” he told himself.

So once more, he began to climb the mountain.

Roaming the world for the earth’s top shelf.

He found a place void of death, lush greenery near the fountain.

He built a home there, right next to that geyser.

He was as close as he could be to the forever yearned heavens.

And every day he waited there, he would become wiser.

Waiting out his luck until his turn for a full hand of lucky sevens.

He wished every day that star would come crashing down.

Seeing other sparkles shoot across as if somewhere to be.

Sitting on atop the planet like the king’s crown.

But the King is not known for the crown, he is known for he.

Part 2: The Girl

That same glimmering star that twinkled ever so radiantly in the night sky,

Was, without noticing, looking down at the worlds from where she was held.

She had been there for so many years, she forgot how to listen to her heart’s cry.

Watching space and the planets continue before her eyes to meld.

She noticed the boy that was climbing up, but payed him no attention.

To her eyes and her soul, she could only listen and hope to see the once royal king.
